Camelot Texels was established in 1992 with ewes purchased from Annan, Cae Hic, Erw, Ettrick, Stonefieldhill and Wollascott flocks with choice additions since from the Ward dispersal and other sales.

From the outset we have aimed to meet the demand of local fat lamb producers providing rams with good conformation and tight skins that will perform well for a number of years.

The return of past buyers is very encouraging and a source of great satisfaction for our breeding programme.

The flock is Maedi Visna Accredited and we are also members of the National Scrapie Plan.

Following the most recent genotyping test 99% of the rams were in groups 1 & 2.

Past stock rams have come from Crossgill, Erw, Glenside, Kirtle, Langford, Loosebeare and Smithy flocks. The most notable being Smithy Equity – Champion at Ruthin 1998 - purchased jointly for 2000gns. Equity has left his mark on the flock leaving progeny with good breed character and tight skins.
